Liverpool have been the favorite for signing Matheus Nunes but it looks like Chelsea could come out as a competition for them. The Blues are likely to sign new midfielders in the next transfer windows. Graham Potter would be looking to need more energy in the midfield. With N’Golo Kante and Jorginho’s contracts coming to an end by the end of this summer, they would be looking to sign new midfielders.

Liverpool have been interested in the player for quite some time now. They had wanted to sign him from Sporting but he ended up signing for the Wolves. Wolves could make a profit if Nunes ends up joining the Liverpool side. Liverpool were really hoping to sign Matheus Nunes. Chelsea have now come out as a threat to Liverpool. Nunes offers great abilities in the midfield and have great energy in their box-to-box play style. Although the fans are yet to see him perform consistently. He is yet to have a consistent run of strong performance for the Wolves. Furthermore, the fans were definitely hoping to see a little more than that.
Though Chelsea and Liverpool have identified the talent in Matheus Nunes. They believe that the player needs a bit more time and proper guidance to reach his full potential. Chelsea would be hoping to replace the likes of N’Golo Kante, which would be big shoes to fill for. The Blues believe to get more out of the player moving forward. Whereas, Liverpool are still said to be confident to sign the player. It would be interesting to see how this transfer saga turns out in the next few months.
