According to journalist Nizaar Kinsella, Chelsea manager, Mauricio Pochettino made sure to grab Cole Palmer during halftime yesterday night. In response to the player’s outstanding first half, he said on Twitter that the coach was eager to fix something about the player’s game.
After excelling off the bench on several occasions, Palmer was starting for the Blues in the Premier League for the first time. In the EFL Cup last week, he got a chance to play from the start. He seized the opportunity by assisting Nicolas Jackson in scoring the game’s lone goal.
Following this up yesterday night, they defeated Fulham 2-0. The £40 million deadline day transfer provided an assist for one of two goals in a minute. Cole Palmer gave a brilliant performance last night against Fulham in Craven Cottage.
Mauricio Pochettino spoke with Cole Palmer about his game
Despite having a lead at halftime, it became apparent that Mauricio Pochettino was not all smiles when it came to his players.
According to Kinsella, there was a problem with Palmer’s game that he wants to settle. Kinsella said
“Cole Palmer is getting a one on one from Pochettino. He has looked very good today but he has seen something positional or tactical to resolve.”
It would be tough to deny Palmer’s continued inclusion in the starting lineup in light of his performance from last night. Right now, it seems challenging to secure a stable position in the middle. Most likely, unless injured, Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo won’t be moved.
Conor Gallagher, on the other hand, was chosen as the player of the match last night for his work in the centre. Mauricio Pochettino has so far come to prefer Gallagher this season in particular because of his presence as captain.
