Mauricio Pochettino prepared to take over Manchester United: Right man for the job?

According to Daily Mail, Mauricio Pochettino is ready to leave PSG with immediate effect to take over Manchester United if the opportunity arises. Manchester United have parted ways with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following their embarrassing 4-1 defeat against Watford. Moreover, former Michael Carrick is taking charge until they find an interim or a permanent replacement. The rumours are increasing by the day as the seat remains up for grab. While there are several other mouth-watering options linked for the United job. Zidane, Ten Hag, and Luis Enrique are the most exciting options out of the available candidates.

The PSG manager was also heavily linked with United after Mourinho’s departure. However, Ole’s remarkable job as the interim manager made him the permanent manager. Although Ole has failed a lot in recent times he has brought this United a long way. United made some key signings under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. They finished 2nd last season and also reached the Europa League Final. While the Red Devils played four semi-finals and one final under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Mauricio Pochettino is also not completely happy at PSG as per some reports. The Parisians failed to win Ligue 1 last season and the manager’s family is also staying in London. Although PSG are leading the Ligue 1 with an 11-point lead at the top, this season.

What can Pochettino bring at Manchester United?

Pochettino uses a system that requires very high pressing and plays attacking football, something that was lacking at United. He also wants his team to build from the back and quickly press the opponents to unsettle them. His teams usually work their way into the box. Manchester United have a rich history in developing players from their academy. Pochettino is praised for his ability to develop local players, while his players also liked his man-management ability. Pochettino helps his players to improve them physically, technically, and mentally. He also encourages them to take charge of their own development.

Manchester United have a squad that is very capable of winning any trophy. Nevertheless, they were struggling under Ole. Pochettino has also failed to win trophies at Spurs. Although Tottenham were runner-ups in the 2016-17 season and reached UCL finals in the 2018-19 season. These are wonders that nobody thought Tottenham could do but Pochettino made it possible. Except that he failed to win it when it mattered. United reached 4 semi-finals and 1 final under Ole and now they need is a manager who can win these important matches.

Pochettino United, Six Sports

It is believed that United’s primary choice is also Pochettino. Although many would not be in the favour of this as there are other interesting options. Nevertheless, he will certainly make United an exciting team to watch with his intense game plan. His trophy drought and United’s trophy drought can make this a perfect match. They can win together and complete each other. Although it is yet to be seen how United progress with the situation and also depends on PSG’s position on Pochettino.
