Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino states what Enzo Fernandez is struggling with at Chelsea recently. We know that Chelsea are really struggling for over a year now. Moreover, Enzo is considered to be there best player but he is also struggling to settle down since his move. Though, Enzo has established himself as a key figure for Chelsea. He is one of the first names in the squad when fit and available.

The 22-year old Argentinian is playing a holding role as well as creating chances for his team upfront. Mauricio has noted that Enzo is struggling with his English. Mauricio revealed that Enzo is facing a language barrier while explaining why he would prefer England international midfielder Conor Gallagher to be the captain when he is on the pitch.

Mauricio spoke about the struggle of Enzo

In a talk with The Daily Mail, Mauricio said,

Thiago is an experienced player that doesn’t need the armband and then I think it’s important to build something for the future. Not only the present but the future. He is there and the captain is not only to put the armband on your arm.

“To clarify, I think maybe it was Thiago give it to Enzo but Enzo is still struggling with his English. If we need to communicate with the referee and everything I think Conor can perfectly do the job and for me I prefer Conor than Enzo because I think Conor can speak normally, English.”

We can clearly understand why Mauricio prefers Conor over Enzo for the captaincy. The only question is whether Gallagher will be starting week in week out when other options will be available. Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia joined Chelsea in the summer transfer window, so Gallagher is facing competition for a place in the starting lineup.
