India will meet Pakistan on 23rd October 2022 for their opening game of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. The match is scheduled to take place in Australia at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The biggest cricket rivalry is a massive hit among the fans. The tickets for the game were sold out within a few hours.

India is facing Pakistan for the third time this year. The Asian giants locked horns twice in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2022. The men in blue won the opening group match. But, Pakistan had their revenge in the second game as they ousted India from the super four race. Interestingly, India suffered a heartbreaking 10-wicket defeat in the T20 World Cup held last year.

A war of words has broken out even before the campaign starts. Pakistani speedster, Haris Rauf has issued a stern warning to the Indian cricket team before the high-pressure clash.

“They won’t be able to play me easily,” Haris Rauf

Pakistan pacer, Haris Rauf has issued a bold statement ahead of the India-Pakistan clash. He said that he is not under any pressure before the clash. As a matter of fact, he is delighted that the match is taking place at MCG. Rauf, who plays for the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League, described the Melbourne Cricket Ground as his home ground.

“The match between India and Pakistan is always a high-pressure game. Whoever the opponent is, it’s always a high-pressure game. In the World Cup last year, I was feeling so much pressure. But in the past two matches in the Asia Cup, I didn’t feel much of it because I knew I just had to give my best”

He further said that his plans against India are already in motion. He even claimed that Indian batters will have a rough time against him.

“If I give my best, they won’t be able to play me easily. For the upcoming World Cup match, I’m very happy because it is at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. It is my home ground because I play for the Melbourne Stars and I have the idea of how the conditions play out there. I’ve already started planning of how I would bowl against India”

Haris Rauf is in exceptional form against England in the ongoing bilateral series. He snatched victory from England’s jaws in his penultimate over of the 4th T20 international. He is currently the highest wicket-taker in the series, with 8 wickets in 5 games played so far.

Incidentally, India and Pakistan are both facing a serious scare ahead of the tournament. Their prime pacers, Jasprit Bumrah and Shaheen Shah Afridi are doubtful for the tournament owing to respective injuries.
