Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta could give an opportunity to a highly-rated youngster against Brentford on Saturday as some of his players are missing.

Both Reiss Nelson and Emile Smith Rowe are sidelined due to injury despite Nelson returning to full training before the defeat against Everton, last week. Smith Rowe, who is also sidelined due to a thigh injury and will not be involved as Arteta confirmed in his pre-match press conference.

This could give chance to youngster Amario Cozier-Duberry to make his debut for the Gunners. He was on the substitution bench against Everton at Goodison Park. Cozier-Duberry has again seen training with the first team this week.

The 17-year-old has been on the bench for three senior games this season but is yet to make his debut for Arsenal and he might get his break against Brentford.

Amario Cozier-Duberry impreses Arteta during mid-season training camp

Cozier-Duberry was among several youth players who went with the first team when they visited Dubai during the FIFA World Cup in December.

Arsenal won the Dubai Super Cup during this mid-season training camp and Arteta was highly impress with the youth players involved during the tournament.

He had a word with Arsenal.com and stated that:-

“This win is a good way to close the stage and the camp.

I think they’ve been absolutely brilliant. Thank you so much as well the boys they’ve been really helpful.

“The under-18s, the 16s and 21s maintained the level and the standards that we need.

I think we competed really well against a really, really good side.

“Arteta has a great track record of developing youngsters and turning them into Premier League regulars, and if Cozier-Duberry performs well he could potentially be Arsenal’s next big star”.

However, Arsenal are looking confident as they are currently sitting at the top of the Premier League Table. With 17 matches more to go, the Gunners are favorites to lift the trophy.
