Mithali Raj rises to 2nd spot, Mandhana retains her place at 6th

The ICC released the updated rankings of players in women’s cricket. Indian ODI skipper Mithali Raj jumped by 1 place to be at No.2. She is currently behind Australian wicket-keeper batter Alyssa Healy. Opener Smriti Mandhana remains the other Indian batter to be in the Top 10 rankings as she maintained her 6th position. Mandhana bagged another special accolade to her name after being named the ‘ICC women’s Cricketer of the Year for 2021’.

Harmanpreet Kaur and Deepti Sharma too retained their places at 18th and 19th respectively. There were no major changes in the list of Top 10 bowler rankings. Veteran seamer Jhulan Goswami remains at 2nd spot as Jess Jonassen continues to be at the top of the charts. Caribbean off-spinner Hayley Matthews made a huge leap by 3 places to be at No.11. Natalie Sciver leads the rankings of all-rounders with a rating of 372. Deepti Sharma moved up by 1 place to reach the 4th spot in the list of all-rounders.

In overall team rankings, Australia remains the numero uno and has kept a margin of 41 rating points with the Proteas at No.2. India are placed at No.4 and will eye to improve their ranking in the upcoming few series. The ICC Women’s World Cup is just around the corner and the last time runners up India will aim to script history in New Zealand.
