SSC Napoli registered interest in Giovanni Simeone of Hellas Verona and Giacomo Raspadori of US Sassuolo Calcio. According to the latest reports as per Sky Sports Italia, ‘the Partenopei are ready to submit an offer for the Neroverdi starlet amid advanced talks with the Gialloblu for the Cholito.’

Both Lorenzo Insigne and Dries Mertens waved goodbye to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona this summer. However, with their departure, Napoli now lacks decent options in the final third. This forced the manager Luciano Spalletti to double swoop for two strikers to fill the void left by them.

Current proceedings of the players with Napoli

Giovanni Simeone had a great run in the 2021 – 2022 season in Serie A this season for his side. In 36 apps in Serie A, the Argentine forward netted 17 goals for Hellas Verona. According to the latest reports, the 27 year old already agreed on a deal with Napoli. Only transfer fee acceptance with his current club remains the only concern but looks like a deal will go through.

As Simeone will arrive from Stadio Mercantonio Bentegodi, Napoli will also launch their bid for Giacomo Raspadori. The Italian international is already one of the best players of the league. However, now, Napoli is leading the race for his signature as Aurelio De Laurentiis wants him to be the long-term replacement of Insigne.

However, Raspadori’s current contract at Sassuolo runs until 2024. He had a decent season for the Mapei Stadium outfit last season as he netted 10 goals and registered six assists in 36 apps, being one of the key players for them. Sassuolo finished mid-table last season but still Raspadori won’t come cheap.

However, Raspadori’s will depend very much on the transfer progress of Gianluca Scamacca. West Ham is currently leading the race for the signature of the tall Italian striker. Sassuolo won’t likd to lose both of their star players in the same window.
