After nine months, the arch-rivals meet again in Asia Cup at the same venue on the 28th of Aug. Furthermore, India and Pakistan are expected to play again on the 4th of September 2022. Along with this, these teams might as well play in the finals.

The defending champions will start their campaign against Pakistan on Sunday. Pakistan will be missing their crucial bowler Shaheen Afridi. Afridi was ruled out of the tournament due to an injury in the knee. While Pakistan lost their crucial bowler, India will also be missing Jasprit Bumrah. The Pakistan team will solely depend on the batting performance of Babar. On the other hand, India will have to depend upon its batters. Virat Kohli should be the key in this match.

Scott’s prediction

Former New Zealand great Scott Styris feels India needs to accelerate itself onto others. This way they can not only win against Pakistan but also against all other teams. Styris proclaimed that team Indian missed that vibe during the last T20 world cup. Furthermore, India went on to lose against Pakistan. Styris on asked about Asia Cup said

“Well, as we know, India has a very strong T20 league as well. I think it’s the ability to come together and play the style and brand of cricket that best suits your players. I thought that was the big trick that India missed at the last T20 World Cup as it took them about two games. The two losses they had before they just started to go after the opposition, impose themselves with the talent and skill that they’ve got.

I want to see India do that in this Asia Cup. I want them to impose themselves on the other teams and l they’ve got the ability to do that, I think they’ve got the ability to squash everybody, including Pakistan, in this Asia Cup,”
