Newcastle United are eyeing a mind-blowing move for Sadio Mané. The Magpies have been all over the news recently for their links to world-class players. They are expected to sign some players this summer to prepare themselves for Champions League football next season. Their recent signing of Sandro Tonali from AC Milan was a huge indicator of how seriously the club is working towards building a strong team, that can compete against the biggest teams. However, it looks like Newcastle are not going to stop here.
Their recent links to the superstar, Sadio Mané has shocked the entire world of football. Even though no official talks have been held, but it surely looks like a deal that could happen.
Mané, who left Liverpool last season to join Bayern Munich, didn’t have the best of the starts to his new club. The Senagalese only made 38 appearances for Bayern out of which he only started 26 games. He started most of the games from the bench since Thomas Tuchel became Bayern’s manager. Some reports in March suggested that Mané is unhappy at Bayern and now we are getting reports that both Mané and Bayern are looking for opportunities to move on with Mané hoping to make a shock return to the Premier League.
Can Newcastle really sign Mané?
According to reports, no contact yet has been made by the club to Sadio. However, it was suggested that Mané is emerging as possible target for them. Newcastle are searching the market for a winger this summer. They have been linked to some great wingers including Zaha and Nico Willams. Sadio Mané however, is one of the best players in the world right now. His spell at Liverpool was very prolific as he won all the trophies possible with the Reds in a span of 6 years. Even though he is 31 now, he still is a world class winger that any team would want to have.
Newcastle reportedly are in search of a complete winger, one who is quick, a good passer of the ball and also consistent in front of the goal, Mané has all these qualities which the Magpies are in search of. However, age factor can be a big influence in this deal.
It definitely would be great to see Mané come back in the Premier League. The fans would love to see a star of Mané’s level to grace the league again. However, a move to Newcastle can be quite a shocking news for the Liverpool fans to see one of their greatest ever players join an opposition team.
