According to Italian Journalist Rudy Galetti, Newcastle are once again linked with Sassuolo for Rogerio as the Magpies agree to personal terms with the Brazilian. Newcastle will be ready to splash the cash as this is the last week of the winter transfer window. Eddie Howe’s priority looks like strengthening the defense and signing a center-back is now off the cards.

However, signing a left-back might release some pressure for the next season. Newcastle United have already signed Kieran Trippier as a right-back and will have less work to do after signing the Brazilian. Robin Gosens emerged as a target for Newcastle before shifting their attention towards Rogerio. Mitchel Bakker was also looked at before making a move for the Brazilian left-back.

Newcastle needs strengthening at several positions to survive comfortably in the Premier League. They also need the depth in the squad to play a whole season with the games coming thick and thin. However, they have now got the financial help to support their ideas and lure greater recruitments to their side. A very good example of this is signing Kieran Trippier.

Rogerio can also gain a lot from this move and he will get great exposure to Premier League football and also to the footballing world. However, he has to suffer a few results at the start as the build-up process won’t be very fast and easy. Rogerio will have to impress the manager to replace others at Newcastle United.

What can Rogerio offer Newcastle United?

Rogerio can be exceptional when playing as a fullback instead of a left-back. He started the game as a midfielder but can now fulfill the duties of a left-back. He is a ball-playing defender who can get out of tough situations and is great in high possession playing style. These abilities will help Newcastle beat the press of bigger clubs in order to get a result.

Rogerio constantly looks to create chances as he has a great ability to make through passes and also change the flank when required. He is one of the most press-resistant players now and his dribbling helps him beat the press and create space for himself. Rogerio can create chances everywhere from the left and can also make great overlapping runs for the winger.

Newcastle United currently lacks these qualities of beating the press and creating chances out of nowhere. He can help the Magpies both offensively and defensively also but should be aware of the competition he has to face. Rogerio might impose a greater threat against big clubs as his creative ability and catch the big teams as a shock.

Newcastle have to stay in the Premier League to have better chances in the future. The Magpies must stay out of the relegation zone and should use the financial aid they have whenever required. This Arab takeover might just save them from being relegated since signing new players might a bundle of their questions at the moment.
