Chelsea are preparing for the return of N’Golo Kante, who can save Graham Potter from the impending sacking. The Blues are getting closer to welcoming the return of N’Golo Kante from injury. Potter is getting closer to his biggest managerial career boost. Furthermore, he might not have waited for this much for any single player as much as Kante. Graham Potter have been the Chelsea manager for the last six months but is yet to have the Frenchman in his squad. He didn’t have the luxury of selecting N’Golo Kante in his squad even once. Kante is one of the most important players in Chelsea. The extent of importance that the player holds should not be understated. Chelsea had averaged 2.2 points per game under Tuchel with Kante. But without him, the points dropped to 1.7 points per game. Therefore this was quite a drop for the Blues without the player.

N’Golo Kante is to make it back into the Chelsea squad soon

Potter has been unlucky with injuries so far. Not only were his squad plagued with injuries, but some of the most important players were affected. Therefore Kante’s return to Chelsea training have been the biggest boost of the season. Potter was asked about the availability of his player ahead of the Tottenham match. He said,

“We’ve had a good week’s training, everyone is available pretty much apart from N’Golo [Kante] and Christian Pulisic,”

Potter further added,

“They are making progress, joining the warm-ups, and they will be more integrated next week. So that is good.”

However, N’Golo Kante is not going to return for the match on Sunday. But he is still looking to gel in with his new teammates. With a player like Kante on his way to return, it fills the team with optimism.

N’Golo Kante was even deemed as Chelsea’s very own Kylian Mbappe by Thomas Tuchel. He was one of Chelsea’s key players in their trophy-winning season of 2021. Kante will definitely make a difference in the playing style and team morale with his return to the pitch.
