ARSENAL

Nicolas Pépé is unlikely to return back at Arsenal after this season

Pepe

Arsenal have apparently spent way too much on Nicolas Pépé according to journalists. The player is still Arsenal’s record signing. Nicolas Pépé joined the Gunners from Lillie on a £72m deal. The player is currently on a loan deal to the Ligue 1 team Nice. Furthermore it looks like Pépé is not that keen on returning to Emirates. According to some French news outlets the player is happy at his new club. He would not be offended to stay longer at the French club. Furthermore the Nicolas Pépé have scored eight goals in his 25 appearances for Nice this season. He is also getting quite a lot of game time at his new club. However he missed some of the season due to his knee injury. Therefore it is quite obvious that it is unlikely for him to return to the Emirates.

Nicolas Pépé could join Nice on a permanent transfer deal

Journalist Dean Jones thinks that Arsenal spent too much on the player. And therefore he can’t see a way back for Nicolas Pépé to the Gunners. Jones shared, “They paid way too much for him. I haven’t heard that there’s going to be any way back for him, and the way that this team has evolved since he left suggests that there’s no point now even trying.” Arsenal have now moved on from the winger. They have shown their trust on Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli this season. And the young duo is truly flourishing at the Emirates this season so far. They have helped the Mikel Arteta’s side to reach at the top of the Premier League table. Nicolas Pépé did well in his last season at Lillie was very impressive. However does he really deserve to be one of Arsenal’s highest paid player is the question here.

Unfortunately Nicolas Pépé failed to return back to his form at Arsenal. He failed to replicate his form at the Premier League. However his lack of form doesn’t mean that he was a bad footballer. He could sometimes bring something to the team’s attack.
