Ivorian winger Nicolas Pépé move to Saudi Arabian club this summer have collapsed, leaving the player struck at the North-London club.
According to CBS Sports, Pépé’s move to the unknown Saudi Arabian club has collapsed at the very end moment. The winger lined up for a lucrative deal involving a £5 million net salary alongside bonuses.
Few big names such as Jordan Henderson, Riyad Mahrez and Ruben Neves joined Saudi Pro League this summer. But Pépé’s move collapsed and leaving him struck at Arsenal.
Ivorian’s future at the Emirates is now up in the air. Gunners have to look for other possible suitors to take Pépé off their hand this summer.
However, Pundit Kevin Campbell still believes that Nicolas Pépé possess unbelievable ability and is an incredible talent. He said :-
“Pepe, unfortunately, was an unknown quantity, who we hoped would be unbelievable.
“Maybe he wouldn’t have signed him because of what Mikel Arteta looks for in players, maybe we wouldn’t have signed him. Maybe we would have signed someone like Jack Grealish. That’s the difference.
“I don’t think he worked at his game enough or the transition from France to England didn’t come quick enough. He has got unbelievable ability and he helped Arsenal win an FA Cup under Mikel Arteta. His inconsistencies worked against him. Talent-wise, we know he has incredible talent.”
Nicolas Pépé is a extremely good player, but he’s extremely inconsistent. The Ivorian returned to the team, but he is not travelling with the team that has travelled to United States for pre-season friendlies.
However, if a move can’t be arranged, Pépé might terminate the contract which will allow him to the club on free.
