Ravichandran Ashwin

R.Ashwin decodes the reason behind M.Riwan’s bizarre run-out. The veteran off-spinner made a tweet(X) highlighting the possible reason fir this bizarre run-out.

In the Asia-Cup opener between Pak and Nepal this run-out took place. Pakistan batting first lose some early-wickets, making skipper Babar Azam joined by wicket-keeper M.Rizwan in the middle. Their partnership was looking good until the wicket-keeper met with the run-out.

During the fourth delivery off the 24th over, Rizwan set off to steal a quick single by pushing the ball towards covers. However, Dipendra Singh Airee, who was at covers, gathered the ball and got a direct hit at the stumps. In a bizarre turn of events for Rizwan, the batter had his bat and both feet in the air, as he took evasive action to get out of the line of the ball which led to his dismissal.

R.Ashwin spoke on the run-out

Like everyone, the Indian off-spinner was also amazed by the manner of the run-out. He took on to his twitter(X) account to display his opinion on the run-out.

R.Ashwin said on his tweet(X),

The height of the throw made it harder to evade for Rizwan but for someone who generally dives to make his ground all the time while running between the wickets, this is a rare instance of him ducking for cover and the only reason is that he isn’t wearing his helmet. He loves sweeping against spin and no helmet makes it even more bizarre. #PAKvsNEP,”

Pakistan had easy win over Nepal

However, Pakistan’s skipper Babar Azam went on to made his 19th ODI century and Pakistan scored 342 runs in 50 overs. Pakistani bowlers wrapped out the Nepal batters rather quickly in just 23.4 overs fpr total of 104 runs. Babar Azam was adjusted M.O.M for his 151(131) runs innings.
