Odegaard is Arsenal’s most dangerous player – Gary Neville

Former footballer and pundit Gary Neville admits Norwegian midfielder Martin Odegaard is Arsenal’s most dangerous player currently.

Speaking on SkySports, the former defender discussed about him ahead of the North-London Derby. It was a hard fought battle between both the neighbours but the match ended in 2:2 draw.

Arsenal looked quite well in the match as they took the lead twice but Son Heung-Min helped the visitors to share the points at Emirates. Mikel Arteta forced into some changes as Gunners didn’t look at their best.

Before the match, Neville praised Odegaard and termed him as most dangerous player in Arsenal squad. However he had a poor outing against Spurs as he completed only five passes in the first-half.

The former Red Devil praised the 24-year-old and said :-

“[Martin] Odegaard I said last week, he’s getting to that special level where I think that he’s starting to talk about [David] Silva and [Kevin] De Bruyne as the most beautiful football players I’ve watched, so silky and smooth.

“Odegaard’s getting to that type of level where he’s just brilliant to watch, he’s an outstanding player.

“I was surprised like everybody else maybe that he was named captain of Arsenal 18 months ago whenever it was.

“ He doesn’t look like a captain but what he does do out of the pitch is he takes the ball, he’s courageous, he takes the ball in difficult situations.

“I always think he’s Arsenal’s most dangerous player, get the ball as much as you possibly can to him and you’ll have a problem if you’re the opposition.

“Well done to Arsenal, well done to Mikel Arteta as some of his decisions over the last couple of years, I’ve doubted myself but they’ve been really good ones.”
