Official: Renan Lodi moves to Nottingham Forest on loan

Renan Lodi is set to join Nottingham Forest on loan. The Brazilian fullback has become the newly promoted side’s eighteenth signing.

Before leaving Atletico Madrid for the Premier League, where he will play the rest of the season on loan, Lodi has extended his contract. His deal with Los Rojiblancos is valid until the summer of 2026. This was perhaps done to ensure that the La Liga outfit can get a generous sum for him.

Lodi will cost Nottingham Forest five million Euros in loan fees this season. A purchase clause in the deal worth 30 million Euros is also present in the deal.

Atlético de Madrid and Nottingham Forest have reached an agreement over the loan until the end of the current season of Renan Lodi, who has extended his contract with our club until 2026. From Atleti we wish Renan Lodi every success in this new professional stage.

Lodi At Atletico Madrid

Lodi joined Atletico in the summer of 2019, and since then, he has made 118 appearances and registered six goals along with ten assists. However, Diego Simeone has chosen to deploy Reinaldo Mandava ahead of him in the left-back position. As a result, the Brazilian is unsatisfied with his game time.

Lodi came to the City Ground yesterday to watch his new club take on Spurs. He will now hope to get more minutes on the pitch at Nottingham. Lodi will want to make an impression on the Brazilian manager ahead of the World Cup which kickstarts in November.

Meanwhile, Atletico have signed Sergio Regulion from Tottenham Hotspur on loan as a replacement. He is a product of the Real Madrid academy, who moved to White Hart Lane in 2020. The Spainiard has also spent a season on loan at Sevilla, where he won the Europa League. He was not in Antonio Conte’s plans this season. Ivan Perisic and Ryan Sessegnon have taken his spot in the team.
