Chelsea have advanced to the Quarter Finals of the Champions League by defeating Borrusia Dortmund. The Blues came from behind in the second leg to score two goals and win the match.
The Champions League Quarter Finals draw will take place on 17th March in Nyon Switzerland. Chelsea will hope to get a moderate opponent for the next round to go deeper into the tournament.
It’s an open draw and any team can face any team in Quarters. Teams qualified are Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Napoli, Benfica, and Bayern Munich. The Blues can match up with any seven contenders.
CHELSEA’S POSSIBLE OPPONENTS FOR CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUARTER-FINALS
MANCHESTER CITY
City scored seven goals against RB Leipzig as Haaland scored 5 goals in the match. Guardiola’s side will be high in confidence and will look to take revenge against Chelsea for losing the finals in 2021. However, this season, Chelsea have faced City thrice and lost on all three occasions.
BAYERN MUNICH
Bayern have knocked out star-studded PSG in the Champions League this season. The Bavarians look too high in confidence and will like to win the tournament this term. Bayern last faced Chelsea in the round of 16 of the 2019-20 UCL where the German giants humbled CFC 7-1 on aggregate over the course of two legs.
REAL MADRID
Real are last season’s champions and defeating Liverpool in the round of 16 is a major boost for the team. Madrid knocked down Liverpool 6-2 on aggregate to book a quarter-final seat and could set up a rematch of the 2021-22 quarter-finals where the Los Blancos emerged as the better side.
NAPOLI
Napoli are currently at the top of the Serie A table and the team looks in terrific form. They are one of the most dangerous sides in Europe this season. If Chelsea faces Napoli in the quarter-finals, then it perhaps is a tough day for Potter’s side.
BENFICA
Perhaps a match against Benfica will be the most desirable one for Chelsea in Quarter Finals. However, they cannot be taken as lightly because their front three of Goncalo Ramos, Rafa Silva, and David Neres has 16 goal contributions
AC MILAN
Chelsea have faced AC Milan twice in the group stages and won on both occasions. Milan eliminated Tottenham Hotspur in the round of 16. The Blues will like to come at the top if they face the Seria-A outfits again.
INTER MILAN
Satirically this clash can be termed as the Lukaku Derby. Inter eliminated Porto 1:0 to return to the quarter-final stage of the prestigious tournament for the first time since 2011. Chelsea last faced the Italian Club in the 2009/10 season in a round-of-16 clash.
