Ornstein gives his insight about United’s upcoming future

Football Correspondent David Ornstein gives his insights about Manchester United’s upcoming future as Sir Jim Ratcliffe might acquire minority stakes of the club.

The Brittish billionaire is expected to purchase 25 percent of the Premier League club for £1.3 billion. His company INEOS will take control over United’s Footballing operations.

However, the deal is still not officially announced as the final decision will be taken on Thursday’s board meeting. Ratcliffe is closing in on agreement, as per reports.

Ratcliffe’s investment will change United’s ownership structure since the Glazers took control in 2005. But Ornstein shares his insights about the upcoming future.

Speaking on the Five YouTube Channel, Ornstein said :-

“So what does the 25 per cent get you? Well, the big thing here is sporting control.

“And that’s what is being suggested is going to go to Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Ineos. They’ve got experience of it in terms of OGC Nice and Lausanne.

“But what the Glazers may be saying here – this is one theory – is, ‘Let these guy pay a premium for 25 per cent [which is] considerably over the market value.

“Let them call the shots on sporting decisions. If it goes well then our 75 per cent is going to increase in value. The club’s going to be doing well and we’ll take the benefit from that.“‘If it does badly then it’s on Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos.”

However, Ratcliffe’s investment news surfaced after Qatari Banker Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al Thani withdrawn from the race to buy United.

Red Devils are currently struggling to find their feet running in the Premier League in this campaign. Eric Ten Hag’s are currently sitting at 10th position in Points Table.

Meanwhile, supporters will be happy to get a clear break from the Glazers.
