Pakistan won against Hong Kong and made it to Super 4. It was the second match of Super 4 as well as the second encounter between these 2 teams. Both of them are good from all perspectives. It was a matter of who held their nerves and gives a little effort.

Pakistan won the toss and decided to bowl first. Indian openers gave a quick and explosive start to their innings. Both maintained good strike rates and played freely. Unfortunately, Surya got out in that process. Virat kept his wicket till the end and made a superb 60. Deepak Hooda played some beautiful shorts but he also fell short to maximize his innings.

It was Ravi Bishnoi’s quick knock that added 8 runs at the end and it was also due to miss fielding. India put up a score of 181. Pakistan held their nerves. In their innings there were twist and turn with Hardik Pandya taking wickets at the end. India did their task superbly at the start by taking the wicket of Babar Azam.

India vs Pakistan 2014 encounter.

With this win, Pakistan have, however, ended a big drought as they’ve secured the first win over India in the Asia Cup since 2014 at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium, Mirpur, Bangladesh. Pakistan won that ODI game by a slender 1-wicket margin with two balls to spare.

Electing to field, the Misbah-ul-Haq-led Pakistan side restricted Kohli & Co. to 245/8 in 50 overs. Regular India captain MS Dhoni wasn’t playing that tournament hence Kohli was leading the team. Rohit Sharma scored a brilliant 56, Ambati Rayudu scored a brilliant 58 and Ravindra Jadeja scored an unbeaten 50 but Team India failed to go past the 250 winning mark.

In response to the Indian innings, Mohammed Hafeez scored 75 and other batters made vital contributions to help the team cross the finish line. Shahid Afridi hit the winning boundary for Pakistan. It was also a nail-biting thriller.

Both teams played but Pakistan gave in a little effort to win the game. Ravindra Jadeja caused a setback for the Indian team. The absence of Avesh Khan lacked the form in the bowling lineup. Yuzi Chahal was the experienced spinner in playing 11 but he did not play well. Ravi Bishnoi impressed everyone with his bowling. India’s lack of experience in the bowling unit may hurt India in upcoming matches too.

Till then cheers. India will face Sri Lanka on 6th September in Dubai International Stadium. Pakistan will take on Afghanistan on the 7th of September.
