Pakistan will be one hell of a team to contest, says Ravichandran Ashwin. The country had a blockbuster win against Nepal in the opening of the Asia Cup 2023.
Indian renowned spinner Ravichandran Ashwin expressed his thoughts on Babar Azam’s team. He acknowledged Pak as one of the tough contenders for the ongoing Asia Cup, followed by the much-awaited World Cup in October this year.

Moreover, Not long ago, Pakistan defeated Afghanistan by 3-0 in the ODI series. In addition, Pakistan is now number one on the list of ODI team Rankings. Ashwin further added that the immense depth of its squad will benefit them in the near future. Babar Azam’s and Rizwan’s consistent performance will make Pak one of the most dangerous sides to contest.
Ravichandran Ashwin in his YouTube channel stated that
“If Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan consistently dish out performances with the bat, Pakistan will be one hell of a team heading into this Asia Cup and the World Cup. It will take some beating since Pakistan is an extraordinary team. It is all down to their (Pakistan’s) squad depth. Pakistan has invariably developed exceptional cricketers”
Ashwin further praised Pakistan’s pacers and stated
“Thanks to its tape-ball cricket, they have always produced an incredible series of pacers. Also, their batting has been superior during the late 90s and 2000s. But, the exposure they have got to various (T20) leagues has been the primary reason for their re-emergence in the previous five or six years. They also have the PSL. Additionally, in the recent BBL drafts, there were at least 60-70 Pakistan players,”
Pak to face India on September 2nd for the Asia Cup 2023 followed by the World Cup 2023 on October 14th.
