Liverpool will be locking horns with Manchester United in a fierce Premier League clash on Sunday. Paul Merson believes that Klopp will be starting Curtis Jones in Liverpool vs Man United. Indeed, the German boss has rotated his midfield three by a fair bit this season. With Mac Allister missing due to injury, another rotation in midfield is imminent. Despite the experimental midfield against Union Saint Gilloise, the midfield trio against Palace was Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo and Gravenberch. However, speaking on Sportskeeda, Merson says Klopp will be going for Englishman Curtis Jones.
“I expect Liverpool to rip them to shreds, so I’m going for a 3-0 home win.
Alexis Mac Allister is a massive injury doubt, but Jurgen Klopp has a few options to choose from in midfield. Wataru Endo has played a few games recently and Harvey Elliott’s cameos have been impressive, but I think Curtis Jones is someone who knows how big this game is, so I expect him to start at Anfield.”
The 22-year old was the one who played a full 90-minutes for the Reds in Belgium. Though, starting him again isn’t looking like a great deal. He was looking rusty despite having an assist for Quansah’s goal. Although, it will not be a surprise if Klopp opts him to be a starter. The scouser has been a choice for Jurgen in big games previously as well. Jones is not looking in a good form in spite of having two back-to-back assists. Dominik Szoboszlai is a sure shot starter since his entry in the squad. Gravenberch will also be a starting choice for Jurgen Klopp given his previous game’s form. The only problem is in the defensive midfielder role. Endo is not in the best form in the last two games and this might be a work in favour for Jones.
