Aubameyang left out of Chelsea’s Champions League Squad

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is surprised by the fact that Chelsea has left him out of the Champions League squad for the knockout stages.

The 33-year-old played all six group-stage matches for Chelsea and scored twice in both matches against AC Milan. However, Aubameyang’s name was missing from the team submitted for the knockout stages.

January signings Enzo Fernandez, Mykhailo Mudryk, and João Felix were included in the squad for the Champions League whereas Potter made a harsh decision to keep out the striker for the rest of the tournament. Aubameyang is not at all happy with the decision and might move out of the club soon.

PULISIC INCLUSION IN THE SQUAD HAS LEFT AUBAMEYANG SHOCKED

As per The Athletic report, Aubameyang was shocked that injured Pulisic has been included in the Champions League squad over him. The Gabonese international also can’t believe the fact that Hakim Ziyech made to the final team sheet.

Christian Pulisic has been suffering from a knee injury and haven’t played a match since January.

In fact, Journalist Simon Phillips claims that the US international might have left Chelsea if he was not out.

Whereas, The Athletic claimed that Hakim Ziyech missed out on a loan move to PSG in the penalty mate hours.

This means Aubameyang will be unable to play in any Champions League match this season. He also hasn’t been featured in the last two Premier League matches for Chelsea.

Aubameyang would have got the chance of facing his former club Dortmund in the round of 16 tie. However, luck didn’t favor him. His omission still continues to be a real surprise for everyone.

Potter’s decision of leaving the striker out might haunt him later in the season. However, Chelsea has already faced issues in the No.9 position.
