Additionally, Kai Havertz’s move to Arsenal and Mateo Kovacic’s transfer to Manchester City are nearing confirmation.

The immediate objective for Pochettino is to facilitate Mason Mount’s move to Manchester United. The Red Devils have already made two formal bids and are preparing another, with a reported offer of over £55 million. However United may walk away from the deal.

Chelsea and Pochettino, however, need to balance their books to meet Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations. This explains their focus on Mount’s departure before pursuing Caicedo. However, delaying an official offer for Caicedo could be risky if Manchester City wins the battle for Declan Rice. Then Arsenal would go all in for Caicedo and this would impact Chelsea’s decision to sign him.
