Mauricio Pochettino might have a solution for Chelsea strike problems with the comeback of Armando Broja. The Albanian International tore his ACL last December and is now set for a return. Broja will play for the Chelsea’s junior team as he builds his way back to full fitness. Chelsea have been struggling in the recent games for goals and wins. Moreover, this year they have registered only six Premier League victories.
Chelsea were able to score only 28 goals last season. Even in this season they have Raheem Sterling as their top scorer with two goals in five matches. They signed Christropher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson to help the team with scoring opportunities. Though, Jackson had a good pre-season but is yet not able to replicate that in league games so far. Even Nkunku will be missing due to injury for few months.
Pochettino believes Broja can be important for Chelsea
Even though Pochettino and his men are doing great in every aspect than the last season. Still the problems of incoming goals remains persistent. With the arrival of Armando, fans may expect him to give the team a lift in this situation. Pochettino told reporters recently,
“I think at the same time we are keeping one or two eyes on Armando Broja because I think we can’t forget him.”
“We cannot stop him, and to bring some profile of player than can stop his evolution. We really believe in him. We know him very well. He can be a really important striker for Chelsea. We need to be careful.”
Armando Broja played 18 matches for Chelsea last season before getting injured. He even scored a goal in a 3-0 victory over Wolves in October last season. Broja followed a successful loan spell at Southampton in the previous campaign. He netted nine times in 38 appearance for the Saints.
