Mauricio Pochettino wants Romelu Lukaku to lead the Chelsea attack next season, as the Argentine will be announced as club’s new head coach soon.

Chelsea previously held talks with Former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann after sacking Graham Potter last month. But on Friday, Nagelsmann ruled himself out of the race. After holding several rounds of talks, the two parties failed to agree on personal terms.

This decision put Pochettino in prime position to replace interim boss Frank Lampard on permanent basis. On Tuesday, reports emerged as Chelsea have reached an agreement with the Argentine.

Pochettino is already plotting plans to make Chelsea top-four contenders once again. As per TEAMtalk, he is planing to reunite with PSG right-back Achraf Hakimi. The French Giants are planning a squad rebuild and the Moroccan is likely to be put for sale.

As per The Telegraph, Pochettino has also made a big decision on Chelsea’s striker dilema. He wants to give Rumelu Lukaku another lifeline at the start of the 2023-24 campaign.

But Lukaku, who is back at Inter Milan on loan, made it clear he did not want to return to Stanford Bridge while Tuchel was in charge. Inter have also opted out to sign him permanently after difficult season at Italy.

Pochettino has now told Chelsea officials of his intentions to bring Lukaku back into the fold. When the forward returns back from his loan spell, he will then have to decide wheather he wants to joins Chelsea again or push for a permanent exit anyway.
