India survived the Ireland scare to maintain their clean record of 100 per cent wins.

Umran Malik helped defend India 17 runs in the last over.

Winning the toss, Hardik Pandya decided to bat first in the second T20I.

It was a Deepak Hooda show at Malahide as he scored his maiden ton and became the fourth male player to do so.

Together with Sanju Samson, he stitched a huge partnership for the second wicket.

The rest of the Indian batters couldn’t do much although the conditions and pitch were ideal for batting.

Ireland put pressure on India in the last four overs of the match but by then the damage had been done.

India finished off at 225/7 in their 20 overs.

Ireland had to make 226 to level the series.

The hosts did not disappoint as they too made full use of the conditions.

Openers Paul Stirling and Andrew Balbirnie together stitched 100 runs for Ireland.

Then Harry Tector once again batted brilliantly and lastly, it was George Dockrell and Mark Adair who smacked Indian bowlers to all parts.

Hardik Pandya decided to give Malik a go in the final over and his move proved a success.

India just managed to pull off a win by the skin of their teeth.
