With the arrival of Antonio Conte as the head coach, the results have seen an upturn. Tottenham Hotspur are currently 6th in the Premier League table with 33 points from 18 league games. Spurs still have two games in hand as compared to most of the teams ahead of them in the league table. If Tottenham manage to win the two games in hand they would rise up to 4th in the Premier League table.

But there is still a long way to go to reach the level of the 2019-2020 season when they reached the Champions League final. With the January transfer window now open, Antonio Conte is keen to bringing in reinforcements to help achieve the goal this term. Here, we look at potential targets for Antonio Conte and Tottenham ahead of the January transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur potential targets for the January transfer window

Stefan De Vrij

De Vrij played an important role in Antonio Conte lifting the Serie A last term. Conte could very well turn to his former player to add defensive assurance to the Spurs backline.

The Dutch defender has just 18 months remaining on his contract at San Siro. Reports also suggest that Inter Milan are willing to let go of the 29-year-old defender as they are prioritizing new deals for Ivan Perisic and Marcelo Brozovic.

Sergino Dest

The Italian manager is reportedly looking to strengthen the right wing-back position in the January transfer window. He wants to add more competition to Emerson Royal. Barcelona’s new manager Xavi is also supposedly looking to move Dest on from the club.

Dest is also looking for a move away from Camp Nou. Sergino Dest can be a perfect fit for the wing-back role that Conte is after and a deal for Dest would suit both parties.

Adama Traore

Traore has featured in 17 Premier League games this term but has failed to register a single goal or assist in this time. But there is no denying the wingers talent and the speed and strength he offers to his team. Traore’s current contract runs until 2023 but the winger is reportedly looking for a move to a Champions League side.

Traore could replace Lucas Moura in the starting line-up. He could even feature in the right wing-back position, where he has featured previously for Wolves. Wolves are looking for a fee of around £20m for the winger in January.

Dusan Vlahovic

The Serbian striker is one of the most exciting prospects in the world at the moment. Spurs could very well make a move for the striker in January or next summer, with Harry Kane’s future still up in the air.

The 21-year-old striker has recorded an impressive 18 goals in 21 appearances in all competitions this term. Vlahovic is out of contract in 2023 and has refused to sign a contract renewal with Fiorentina.
