Graham Potter held a private meeting with Mykhailo Mudryk after not selecting him against Leeds United and Borrusia Dortmund.

The manager explains to Mudryk why he lost his place in the playing XI for crucial matches in the season ahead. The Ukrainian joins the club in January from Shakhtar Donetsk for a fee of £85 million. But he didn’t find his form in England since joining. The Ukrainian international made 6 appearances, without any contribution so far.

Mudryk sat on the substitute bench in both matches against Leeds United and Borrusia Dortmund.

Now, Simon Phillips reports that Potter held a private meeting with Mykhailo Mudryk and explained why he is out of the team.

Potter’s man-management skills will be tested during this struggling campaign for Chelsea. The manager takes out Mudryk of the limelight as he continues to adapt to a whole new environment. In his absence, the attacking trio of João Felix, Raheem Sterling, and Kai Havertz are being used in both matches.

Potter is not shy to experiment with his squad as the likes of Hakim Ziyech, Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic are out of contention and need to fight for their place. Chelsea are struggling and needs to find the winning form quickly.

However, Marc Cucurella shows great form after returning to the team sheet. The French Full-back delivered a top performance against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League. Mudryk can follow in his footsteps and reinstate his spot on the team.

The Ukrainian need to find his form at Stanford Bridge due to his great reputation as a lethal goalscorer.
