The league fixtures returned this week after a long international break and so did the Premier League. The Premier League returned for the game week 8 and it did not disappoint the waiting fans as they hoped to watch some exciting fixtures.

In the game week 8 we saw Manchester United trembling in front of a decent Leicester City side. While Liverpool got past Watford by a 5-goal margin and also managed to keep a clean sheet in the game. And lastly late on Monday Arsenal and Crystal Palace shared 1 point each as it was a 2-2 draw, which was the closing of game week 8.

Following all the matches played and getting all the results the Premier League table after the game week 8 is led by Chelsea. While behind them in the next three positions are Liverpool, Manchester City, and Brighton. And Manchester United has fallen down to the 6th spot after their latest defeat against the foxes. Now let’s look into all the match reviews of the Premier League game week 8 as we will give you small glimpses of the 10 matches.

Premier League Game Week 8: Review

Watford vs Liverpool

The opening match of the game week 8 was between newly-promoted side Watford taking on Liverpool. And the Reds have not shown any mercy as they picked up dominating 5 goal victory, plus a clean sheet.

Liverpool dominated the whole match with Sadio Mane scoring the opening goal in the 8th minute which was his 100th Premier League. While Roberto Firmino scored a hat trick with goals scored in the 37th minute, 52nd minute, and 90th minute. And lastly, the man in form, Mohammed Salah, was also on the scoresheet scoring in the 54th minute.

Southampton vs Leeds United

Southampton playing against Leeds United recorded their first win this season as they won the match by a 1 goal. The Saints playing at home were seen clearly dominating Leeds as they controlled most of the match. However, despite having 19 shots, Southampton was only able to score 1 goal, with Armando Broja the scorer in the 53rd minute.

It was a good comeback performance for the Saints as they suffered a 3-1 defeat against Chelsea in the last game week. While Southampton had their first win this season, after suffering 4 draws and 3 defeats in the earlier weeks. Leeds are also struggling with just one win in their last 8 matches.

Norwich City vs Brighton & Hove Albion

Norwich and Brighton played a goalless draw against each other, however, the Seagulls looked confident to seal a win. Brighton controlled most of the match with 65% of the ball possession and having 11 shots at the goal. But somewhat it looked like bad luck for the Seagulls as they failed to score any goal.

Manchester City vs Burnley

Manchester City played Burnley at home and the Citizens looked more than confident on the pitch as they picked up a 2-0 victory. City came into this match after a nail-biting 2-2 draw against Liverpool in the last game week. And looked hungry to secure a win against Burnley in game week 8.

The Citizens did what was predicted by many as they crushed their opponents with a 2-0 scoreline. For Manchester City, the goals were scored by Bernardo Silva in the 12th minute and Kevin de Bruyne in the 70th minute. While the whole match was controlled by the Sky Blues, recording 71% possession with 768 passes and having 15 shots towards the Burnley goal.

Aston Villa vs Wolves

It was one thriller of a match as the Wolves turned the game to their side in the last minute to end the match with a 3-2 scoreline. Aston Villa scored the opening goal just after half-time in the 48th minute with Danny Ings the scorer. And after 20 minutes Villa doubles the lead scoring their second goal in the 68th minute, with John McGinn on the scoresheet.

The game favoring Villa all long was turned around by Wolves in the last 10 minutes. Wolves scored their first goal in the 80th minute with Romain Saiss being the scorer. And in just 5 minutes Wolves equaled the score by 2-2 as Conor Coady scored a goal. And last Wolves scored their winning goal in added time With Ruben Neves had the last shot of the match.

Leicester City vs Manchester United

The Foxes stunned the Red Devils in the game week 8, with Leicester securing a 4-2 victory at home. Leicester seemed to take advantage of United’s form against a half-decent side as they totally shattered United’s plan. United opened the scoring in the 12th minute with Mason Greenwood scoring a beauty from outside the box.

But the score was equaled by the Foxes with beauty from Youri Tielemans in the 31st minute. The game continued to be leveled until the 78th minute as Leicester scored their second, with Caglar Soyuncu being the scorer. While United leveled the score in the 82nd minute as Marcus Rashford scored his first goal this season.

But Leicester’s leader upfront, Jamie Vardy, scored a quick goal for his side just after a minute of United leveling the score. And lastly, Leicester sealed the match with a two-goal lead as Patson Dhaka scored in the added time making it 4-2.

Brentford vs Chelsea

Brentford playing against Chelsea was another thrilling match to watch as the Bees gave a tough time to the Blues. The game was slow at the start with Chelsea putting the acceleration after 25 minutes. Following which the Blues were rewarded with an opening goal just before halftime, as Ben Chilwell scored a beautiful half volley.

But the second half was controlled by Brentford as they had most of the possession with most passes and shots. However, despite showing a fighting sign, Chelsea’s stopper Eduardo Mendy was the key man as the Blues were to able to secure a narrow victory.

Everton vs West Ham United

Everton vs West Ham was decided by only one goal which was scored by the Hammers center-back Angelo Ogbonna. West Ham was looking for a turnaround as they suffered a defeat against Brentford in the last game week. And doing the same they were able to clinch a narrow victory from the toffees.

The game was level as both the team looked strong on the pitch with passing and ball possession. But only one goal from a corner by Ogbonna was all to see the Hammers touch the winning line.

Newcastle United vs Tottenham Hotspur

The new richest club played their first match after their recent owner change but failed to grab a victory. Newcastle playing against Tottenham Hotspur was won by Spurs as they were able to get past the Magpies by 3-2.

The opening goal was scored by Newcastle early in just 2 minutes with Callum Wilson scoring a header. However, Tottenham equaled the score in the 17th minute, with a top corner finish from Tanguy Ndombele. Spurs got the lead in the 22nd minute as Harry Kane scored his first Premier League goal this season.

The third goal for Spurs in the added time of the halftime, with Son Heung-min the scorer. Newcastle’s second goal in the last minutes of the game was an own goal from Eric Dier.

Arsenal vs Crystal Palace

The Gunners left it late for a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace as Alexandre Lacazette scored in the last minutes. Arsenal was the first to open the scoring as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored in the 8th minute. The away side equaled the score in the second half at the 50th minute with Christian Benteke on the scoresheet.

Crystal Palace got into the led in the 73rd minute as Odsonne Edouard smashed a powerful shot at the Arsenal goal. The game was going to Crystal Palace but a goal from Lacazette in 90+5 minutes led to settling both the team with 1 point each.
