The gameweek 12 has ended and we have come up with the team of the week for the Premier League. We will use a 4-4-2 formation for the team to best express the quality all over the pitch. All the players included will be the best performing players in their respective positions. Moreover, the team is based on phenomenal performances throughout the weekend. Some enjoyed the weekend a lot while for some it was the worst weekend they could have. A fiery Liverpool, beautiful Manchester City, unstoppable Chelsea, and disappointing Manchester United all of them were a part of the weekend.

Chelsea see themselves sitting at the top of the table three points clear of Manchester City. The Reds are third on the table just one point behind City. Arsenal are fifth on the table three points behind West Ham who are just two points behind Liverpool. Tottenham are seventh while Manchester United are in a shocking eighth position.

Team of the Week

Defense

Goalkeeper – Jose Sa (Wolves)

In for goalkeeping, we have Jose Sa from Wolves. Where the Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson concede three against West Ham, Jose Sa made three saves even kept a clean sheet, and won the game for Wolves. West Ham who are currently 4th on the table have been a headache even for the bigger teams. Instead, Jose Sa’s efforts saw Wolves get a win with a clean sheet.

Right-back – Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool)

Liverpool ran riot against Arsenal and their most creative player had another creative evening. Trent Alexander-Arnold assisted 2 of the 4 goals that Liverpool score. He also scored 15 points in FPL which is the most from this gameweek.

Centre-back – Thiago Silva (Chelsea)

Chelsea were able to secure a comfortable 3-0 win against Leicester City. The 37-year-old Thiago Silva played a commanding game against the Foxes. He cancelled the Leicester attack and was calm and composed on the ball.

Center-back – Tyrone Mings (Aston Villa)

Aston Villa’s first won under Steven Gerrard in charge came up with a goal from Tyrone Mings. He also made it easy for Villa with a secured clean sheet. The goal was certainly a tap-in but his awareness to be in the position was of an attacker.

Left-back – Sergio Reguilon (Tottenham Hotspur)

Spurs were struggling to get even a shot on target in their last 6 halves. Nevertheless, a man of the match display from Reguilon secured a comeback victory for Antonio Conte’s men. Leeds took the lead but a goal from Hojbjerg equalised the score. Reguilon was also on the scoresheet as he scored a rebound and took the lead for Tottenham.

Right midfield – Raheem Sterling (Manchester City)

Raheem Sterling finished a sublime chance created by a beautiful trivela pass by Joao Cancelo. Manchester City thumped Everton 3-0 and Raheem Sterling was a constant threat to the Everton defense. Sterling who fell down the pecking order at Manchester City showed class over the weekend and showed that he deserves a place in the playing 11.

Center midfield – N’Golo Kante (Chelsea)

N’Golo Kante was being N’Golo Kante for the weekend. He marked his return on the pitch with a beautiful finish from the edge of the box. Furthermore, he gave in all-around performance as always with his defensive abilities and his energy throughout the game.

Center midfield – Tom Cleverly (Watford)

The former Man Utd player displayed an impactful performance in their 4-1 against Manchester United. He bossed Scott McTominay and Nemanja Matic throughout the game. He also drew a foul from Maguire which got the United captain a red card.

Left midfield – Maxwell Cornet (Burnley)

Burnley vs Crystal Palace turned out to be an unlikely classic as the game ended in a 3-3 draw. Cornet has proved his worth by scoring a fine volley from the edge of the six-yard box. He is proving to be a signing of the season for Burnley.

Centre Forward – Emmanuel Dennis (Watford)

Dennis was a constant headache for the United defence. He was stretching the defence for the whole 90 minutes and did not stop running. Moreover, his constant pressure led to some mistakes from the United players. Finally he got his reward in the added extra time when score in the bottom far corner against David de Gea.

Centre Forward – Sadio Mane (Liverpool)

Sadio Mane scored the crucial opener against Arsenal. In addition, he also set up Mohamed Salah and worked the whole game to seal an important victory for the Reds.
