The India A side is all set to welcome New Zealand A side for three four-day and a three ODI series starting in September.

The reports currently say that Priyank Panchal will most likely lead the India A side for this series. If he is not available, then Hanuma Vihari is the second captaincy option.

The New Zealand A side will have four players of international renown and they will be playing overseas after a gap of almost four years.

Their last series was in the UAE against Pakistan A and they toured India way back in 2017.

The tour this time is almost similar to the one in 2017 as it has three four-day games all in Bengaluru and three ODIs all in Chennai.

According to some sources, many Ranji Trophy players will get a chance to play in this series.

But the selectors also want players of international renown which is why Kuldeep Yadav could also feature in the squad.

Yadav was with the Indian team in their just-concluded tour of Zimbabwe and was excellent with the ball as he took regular wickets.

The selectors are also looking to test out players in this series who can quickly replace the regular players in the Indian team if they are injured.
