Pundit claims Arteta must start Havertz instead of Nketiah

Pundit Ian Wright claims manager Mikel Arteta must start new signing Kai Havertz instead of Eddie Nketiah regularly in the starting line-up.

Speaking on Writhy House Podcast, Wright states that Havertz played an important role in the win. Gunners triumphed over Manchester City on Sunday as Gabriel Martinelli scored the winner for the home team.

Former Arsenal man also suggested that Nketiah was getting to wide but Havertz proved much option for Arteta. He said :-

“And you know what, if he [Havertz] doesn’t go in there to lay it back down, we may not get that [goal].

“Because some of the times, Eddie like I said, he did a lot of work today, made so many runs.

“But there’s times when you look in the build up when he’s either too far on the left if it’s on the right, or too far on the right if it’s on the left.

“And you just need that body, that focal point in the middle, that Thomas Partey can chip it in to, who can make sure that he chests it down to hold it and lay it back off.

“And I think that Kai Havertz coming on and doing that was absolutely brilliant for us today.”

Pundit applauded Arteta’s decision to make the change

Pundit Ian Wright also applauded Mikel Arteta’s decision to bring Havertz in place of Nketiah in the second-half.

It’s quite unbelievable for the German international as his best performance came against Manchester City on Sunday. He played more centrally at the Emirates which caused problems for City defenders.

However, pundit was nowhere criticising Nketiah as he worked very to create the space, which latter exploited by Havertz in the second-half.

Wrights positively believes that fact that Havertz should be deployed more centrally in the upcoming matches.
