Pundit Adrian Clarke claims Eddie Nketiah has been very slow against Sevilla in Champions League as Arsenal won the game 2:1.
The likes of Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli were too good against the Spanish club. However, Martin Odegaard and Eddie Nketiah weren’t as good as everybody expected.
Nketiah came off the bench but didn’t have much of an impact in the match. The 24-year-old has been very sluggish during the small period he was on the field.
Speaking on the Handbrake Off Podcast, Clarke has been discussing Nketiah’s performance in Champions League this week. The pundit claims the striker was too slow in the field against Seville.
Pundit was not at all impressed with Nketiah’s display against Sevilla
Pundit Adrian Clarke was not at all impressed with Eddie Nketiah’s display against Sevilla despite Arsenal winning the encounter.
The pundit shared his verdict on young Arsenal forward :-
“Eddie Nketiah, I’d like to see him start at the weekend, I think he looked a bit sluggish last night, Sergio Ramos was running away from him, and like you noted, he can’t run away from anyone.
“I think that is a good observation actually. I thought the same thing, he looked a bit sluggish. It’s the type of game for him, with Jesus let’s hope it’s not too bad, I’m assuming he won’t start against Sheffield United, in which case, against a team with two fit centre-halves, the bottom line is that Eddie’s movement can drag people around, so he will play and hopefully he’ll run amock.”
With a improving Arsenal squad under Mikel Arteta, Nketiah needs to fight for his spot in this current campaign. He might get a chance this weekend in the Premier League as Gabriel Jesus picked up a slight nigle.
