Pundit says that £45m Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus should start every game except Saturday

Pundit Adrian Clarke claims that Arsenal must start their striker Gabriel Jesus in every game except this Saturday. Gabriel joined Arsenal last year from Manchester City for a sum of £45m. The Gunners will lock horns with Brentford in the Premier League after international break. Though, Arteta will be having a selection headache ahead of the clash. Indeed, Arsenal had a few injury crisis before the break but now everyone is getting back to fitness. Speaking on  the Handbrake Off Podcast, Clarke says that Jesus should start every game if he is fit and available. He said,

“It’s a really good question because I would always have Gabriel Jesus starting if I’m honest, I really like him as a player, but for this game, no. We have Gabriel who has come back from Brazil and Martinelli who has come back from Brazil. I don’t know if I want three players in our XI who has had that trip. Jesus has just played a full 90 minutes and he’s not done that for a long time. It might be more prudent to start him on the bench, Trossard has been very good and deserves to keep his place.”

Many people will agree with the view of Clarke though. Arteta must not risk Gabriel Jesus in this game. Moreover, Arsenal will be favorites with or without Jesus and if the Brazilian sustains any injury, it will be a huge problem for their upcoming fixtures. As Clarke also said, Leandro Trossard is playing really impressive recently and can start again at the top of the pitch. This fixture will be of great importance for the Gunners though. They currently sit third in the league tied with Liverpool and a point behind the leaders Man City.
