Rashford isn’t a world-class player, claims Roy Keane

Klopp

United legend and Pundit Roy Keane claims Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford isn’t a world-class player as everybody claims.

Manchester City demolished their rivals at Old Trafford yesterday. Erling Haaland and Phil Foden scored the goals for the visitors as United’s dry spell continues.

Manager Eric Ten Hag is under lot of criticism as United have lost five of their 10 matches this season. They’re standing in 8th position due to their inconsistent start to their campaign.

Rashford has been not upto the mark which led to United’s dip in form. He has just managed to score one goal in 12 appearances in this campaign.

Speaking on the SkySports, Carragher states that Rashford is currently not among the best attackers in the world. He said :-

“When the team is not playing well, which it isn’t, you’re not going to have the same numbers that you had last season when things were going well.

“But you have to do more. There is no doubt about that. He’s not world class, he’s probably a level below that.

“If Manchester United want to get back to winning the league or winning the European Cup, which is what they should always be judged against, Marcus Rashford can’t be your best attacker.

Keane stated Rashford didn’t deserve the new contract

Roy Keane stated that Marcus Rashford didn’t deserve the new five-year contract, which is worth around £325,000 per week.

Keane criticised Rashford and said :-

“I think it is unfair to compare to last year because that was so brilliant. But I always worry when a player signs a mega contract in the summer.

“I always worry for players – not just Marcus – that they ease off a little bit. But if anyone is going to produce today for Manchester United, Marcus is more than capable and he’s done it before.”
