Ravindra Jadeja, the all-rounder from India, played a crucial part in India’s success in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. In the Nagpur Test, he picked up five wickets and scored a half-century. He achieved his second-ever 10-wicket haul. Despite being out of action for almost six months due to an injury and not playing any competitive games during that period, Jadeja showed no signs of rustiness.

Ravindra Jadeja won player of the match for his performance

India’s Ravindra Jadeja was awarded the player of the match title in Delhi on Sunday, as India created a record by winning the Border-Gavaskar Trophy for the third consecutively. Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra believes that Jadeja’s increased confidence in his abilities stems from his enhanced performance with the bat in the longest format of the game.

here’s what Aakash Chopra has to say:

In a conversation with ESPNcricinfo, Chopra remarked that it felt as though Jadeja had never left the Indian team.

“To be fair, in fact it felt as if he never went away. In the series where he was not available at home, Axar was taking 5 wickets every time . And now Axar is not able to bowl since Ravindra Jadeja is at his very best,”

Chopra said

“It is Jadeja’s batting I think which has made him the player he is right now. Just the confidence in his complete skill set. his entire package has made him a player who has got this immense self-belief. He comes out at bat at 4/5 and scores runs. He comes to bowl on Day 1 and picks wickets, which was not his forte in the early stage of his career,”

Having undergone knee surgery and spent time recuperating at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore to regain his fitness. The Indian all-rounder had been absent from competitive cricket since September 2022. However, he made a comeback by playing in the Ranji Trophy just before the series.
