Real Madrid are interested in Cesar Azpilicueta this summer

Former La Liga champions Real Madrid are interested in Chelsea’s veteran defender Cezar Azpilicueta this summer.

According to Spanish Outlet Fichajes, Azpilicueta is getting from Spanish Giants Real Madrid. The reigning La Liga champions are ready to offer £10 million for the veteran. And the 33-year-old will leave Stanford Bridge at the end of the season.

Cezar Azpilicueta has been a quality performer for Chelsea since arriving from Marseille in 2012. The Spaniard rose to fame at the West London club while being regular in the defensive line. And he came became the Club Captain after Gary Cahill departed from Chelsea.

With growing age, his performance fell down and it didn’t match his physicality in Premier League. But despite not being as solid as in his prime years, the Defender has made 26 appearances this season so far. However, his current situation looks in dark with Malo Gusto arriving next season. This caught the attention of Los Blancos.

Real Madrid knows that they are not gonna sign a world-class defender in the summer despite Dany Carvajal’s inconsistency. But Carlo Ancelotti continues to start Azpilicueta as Real’s first-choice right-back. Reports claim that Real are ready to offer £10 million to sign the Chelsea defender. The Spaniard future looks dull at Stanford Bridge and Malo Gusto’s arrival in the summer will make his life tougher in West London. Azpilicueta still have a few years to show that he is still capable of playing in the top division.

But it will be interesting to see if Real Madrid wants to pay £10 million in the summer. But for now that Los Blancos looks seriously interested in the veteran defender.
