According to Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid is the likely destination for Frenchman Paul Pogba if he decides to leave next summer. Currently, a Manchester United player Pogba has his contract ending next summer, and talks of a new contract have stalled. Following which everyone is guessing he is set to leave the United camp next season and his next destination might be Real Madrid.

Paul Pogba joined Manchester United in 2016 from Juventus as he returned to United for the second time; earlier leaving the club in 2012. United paid a hefty amount of more than 80 million for the Frenchman; which makes him the costliest player in the team. And now playing in the red shirt since 2016, Pogba has 209 appearances scoring 38 goals and 47 assists.

But with time ticking towards June 2022, the Frenchman’s second spell at Manchester United is nearing an end. Pogba’s current contract with United is set to end on June 30, 2022, and there is no update about a new one. The Frenchman’s future this summer was linked to PSG but the French giants signing Lionel Messi changed plans.

While Paul Pogba was linked with Real Madrid this summer as United wanted a swap deal for signing Raphael Varane. But despite all that rumors, the Frenchman is still staying with Red Devils this season. But next season his jersey color might change to White as Real Madrid are interested in signing him. While Pogba also has an interest in joining in Madrid next season as per reports.

Real Madrid will be waiting until next summer to make a move for the Frenchman, despite having an option of pre-agreement in January. And getting talented player Pogba for free would be a huge deal. Whereas the Spanish side are also closing to sign his national teammate Kylian Mbappe for free next summer. While Los Blancos are also linked with Erling Haaland over a verbal agreement for next season.

What will Paul Pogba bring to the Real Madrid side?

Real Madrid have a world-class midfield with names like Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Casemiro, and Federico Valverde. While the Spanish giants added another talented midfielder this summer named Eduardo Camavinga. But thinking about next season Los Blancos have to worry about Modric whose contract ends next summer. And Toni Kroos who is nearing his career end, turning 32 in January.

This is where Paul Pogba will come in handy if Real Madrid is successful in landing the Frenchman in next summer. Playing in the midfield he will be having a strong presence with creative passing upfront the pitch. So, let’s wait and see if the Spanish giants will be going in for Pogba or think about any other option.
