Real Madrid is on the verge of securing the signature of highly sought-after prospect Arda Guler, who was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal.
Thus far, Arsenal has had a productive transfer window, with the transfer of Kai Havertz from Chelsea. Also, with Declan Rice set to join pending a medical examination at the Emirates.
However, Arsenal may face disappointment in their pursuit of one of the world’s most talented young players, Arda Guler. According to Fabrizio Romano’s report on CaughtOffside, Real Madrid is now close to winning the race for his signature.
Approximately one month ago, Turkish Football said – “Arsenal and Newcastle United are leading the race to sign Fenerbahce’s Arda Guler. It was reported that both English clubs had made contact with the player’s family to explore the possibility of a transfer.
Last week, AS reported that Arsenal, among other clubs, was prepared to trigger Guler’s release clause. It is set at slightly over £17 million.
Latest on Guler in talks with Real Madrid
Now, Romano reveals that Real Madrid has presented an offer surpassing Guler’s release clause. And they are confident of securing his services ahead of other interested clubs this summer.
Romano states, “Last night, Real Madrid submitted an improved proposal for Arda Guler. They are offering a guaranteed €20 million to Fenerbahce. This exceeds his release clause, and they have also included a 20% sell-on clause. Additionally, there would be add-ons, making it a substantial package. While the agreement is not yet 100% complete, it is incredibly close.”
Real Madrid now firmly believes that Arda Guler will become their player, as they perceive the deal to be imminent. It is an intriguing turn of events considering the numerous clubs vying for his signature. Real Madrid appears to be in a commanding position to secure the transfer. As there are indications that Guler himself desires a move to the club.

Arda Guler is an exceptional talent, who is the most promising player in Turkey at present. And he possesses the potential to achieve greatness. In fact, according to Fanatik, a Manchester City scout even remarked in February that Guler has the “potential to become a superstar” in the coming years.
While Arsenal is resurging and embarking on an exciting project, competing with a club of Real Madrid’s stature is undeniably challenging.
Perhaps Guler’s path may follow that of Martin Odegaard, and Arsenal could have the opportunity to secure his services in 2027. Only time will reveal the outcome.
