According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal Starlet Reiss Nelson could leave the club in the summer as talks of contract extension are not yet sorted.
The Englishman is an Arsenal’s Academy Graduate and made his first senior-team appearance for the club in 2017. He impressed everyone in 2019 when he made 22 appearances and played a pivotal role in Gunner’s FA Cup Victory.
The 23-year-old has appeared only 9 times this season after being sidelined due to an injury suffered in December. His current contract is coming to an end this summer and he might leave the club on a free transfer.
Italian Journalist, Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter that Nelson has not yet decided on his future and but remains positive about staying at his current club. Arsenal are yet to start a discussion about a possible new contract. The Young Winger is happy to stay at Emirates but with other clubs approaching, his departure looks evitable. Romano’s Twitter handle posted about Nelson’s current situation.
THE 23-YEAR-OLD SHOULD FIND HIS FUTURE SOMEWHERE ELSE THAN ARSENAL
Nelson came through the academy ranks as one of the interesting prospects but failed to match the expectations. He was sent twice for a loan as he failed to cement his spot for the Gunners.
His academy compatriot Bukayo Saka has made a name for himself. Saka has scored 10 goals across all competitions, this season. Gabriel Martinelli has also been playing brilliantly and with the latest signing, Leandro Trossard coming into the squad, Nelson’s future at Arsenal looks in danger.
Injuries have hurdled his progress but he is believed to be highly talented. Nelson might soon find a club where he can make his progress and get proper game time. Also on the other hand, Arsenal can lose the player on a free transfer, this summer.
