Roberto De Zerbi can replace Graham Potter at Chelsea

Pochettino

Chelsea are interested in hiring Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi as a potential replacement for struggling current manager Graham Potter.

Potter has found himself in tough waters after joining Chelsea last year. As a manager, he has registered only 2 wins in 15 games across all competitions.

Despite reports confirming that Chelsea’s new owner Todd Boehly has still put his faith in Potter but there are some rumors about a potential replacement for the Englishman.

As per Football Insider’s report, Chelsea have a genuine interest in De Zerbi and wants him at Stanford Bridge. Reports also suggest that the Chelsea hierarchy considers the Italian as a fantastic manager and has huge potential to succeed in the future. He won 20 matches in 30 appearances for his previous club Shakhtar Donetsk which helped him to join Brighton last year, replacing Potter.

Since joining Seagulls, De Zerbi has shown good signs of form. He has made 21 appearances and won 10 matches in England. One of the victories came against Chelsea at Amex stadium in October when Brighton won the match by the scoreline of 4:1.

This result was not only Potter’s first loss as Chelsea manager but it was also De Zerbi’s first win as Brighton manager. Chelsea’s manager admitted that he couldn’t stand to match Brighton’s intensity on that day.

Pep Guardiola also admitted that De Zerbi’s impact will be huge in the future. The Italian has a bright future in Premiere League.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Pundit Paul Merson have heavily criticized Chelsea for being slow against Tottenham last weekend. The blues lost the match 2:0 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

De Zerbi’s style of play can make a huge difference at Stanford Bridge.
