Rohit and Virat getting out early was good for India: Salman Butt

Former Pakistani batter Salman Butt talked about the India-Pakistan clash in the Asia Cup. However, the match was washed out due to persistent rain in Kandy. India batting first made 266 runs in 49.2 overs.

Salman Butt praised Indian middle order for their fightback. Notably, India found themselves in a difficult situation at 66-4. Pakistani pace trio led by Shaheen Afridi was all-over Indian middle order. However, in the face of adversity, the dynamic duo of Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya rose to the occasion. Launching a spirited counter-attack with a flurry of boundaries. The partnership breathed life into India’s innings and ultimately propelled them to a competitive total of 266.

Salman Butt says,

I was saying earlier that apart from 2-3 players, there’s a lack of experience when it comes to such intense pressure games (in the Indian team). The best thing that happened to India today, that their main players (Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli) were dismissed early. That tallowed heir youngsters steered a comeback. They took them to a respectable total,”

However, Pakistan and India will meet again on September 10. After the first game, fans of both the teams felt their team would have won. Now, in the Super 4’s it will be interesting to see which team comes on out.

Indian top-order will see this as their shot at redemption. Although, Pakistani bowlers will be looking to repeat their good performance.

With flood like situation in Colombo. Super 4 games of Asia Cup may move out of Colombo and shifted to Hambantota. This neglects the rain threat and allows full game-time for the teams. Fans of all the teams will hope their team does well in the business end of the tournament. However, India-Pakistan fans will hope they see each other in the final also.
