India vs Sri Lanka Match Review

Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bowl first. Indian openers could not give a proper start and KL Rahul got out early. He was quickly followed by Virat Kohli who got out on duck. But Rohit Sharma played fearlessly and scored a brilliant 72. He tried to increase the run rate and in course of doing it he got out. Suryakumar did try to stitch a good partnership with him but departed after him. Rishabh Pant came out to the middle and did play some lavish shorts but could not convert it into big innings. The same case is with Hardik and Deepak. The last overs of Indian innings was dependent on tail-enders, and how many runs they are able to score. India managed to score 173 in the given 20 overs.

Sri Lanka on the other end played superbly. The opening partnership was near to 100s. They continued to play with a good required rate. But the poor bowling of India could not take chances. India surprised them in middle overs and they were a bit lucky as many balls landed in no man’s land. The Lankans held their nerves well. The match did go to the last overs, but the Indians could not manage to win.
