The former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar thinks that Mumbai Indians will be a strong contender in the IPL 23. The 5 time-champion teams will surely miss Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah is the key bowler in most matches and is ruled out of IPL 23. Jofra Archer, who missed last season, must fill the shoes of Bumrah. Gavaskar shares the trump cards for the team.
Sunil Gavaskar said that
“Jofra Archer is one (trump card) for sure. Ishan Kishan after his ODI double hundred will be somebody to watch out as well. And I think Rohit Sharma will do something really special this season,”
Sunil Gavaskar further added,
“I think their strength will be the presence of Jofra Archer. He can pick wickets upfront and also bowl a couple of overs in the end, block the runs and pick up wickets as well. I think it (weakness) could really be the spin combination. They’ve got a love new-ball attack but the spin combination just looks a little bit light,”
Even in the last season, Mumbai Indians had not have the best bowlers. They lost matches again and again. the streak of loss continued for 8 matches straight away. Not to forget they are the five-time champions. They know how to come back after the setback. Sunil Gavaskar feels the same from the point of fans.
The fast bowling is okay but the weak link in this Mumbai Indians squad is the spinners. This team is known for their finding rare talent and making them superstars.
