Chennai Super Kings batsman, Ruturaj Gaikwad is soon going to marry his fiancee, Utkarsha Pawar this month.
For the same reason, he will not be traveling with the Indian team for the WTC Final and Yashasvi Jaiswal has replaced him in the squad.
Moreover, Gaikwad had a superb season for the Chennai Super Kings this year as he amassed 590 runs in 16 games.
Meanwhile, Utkarsha was born on the 13th of October 1998 and is currently playing domestic cricket for Maharashtra.
On the other hand, she is also studying at the Institute of Nutrition and Fitness Sciences, Pune. She has been playing cricket since the age of 11 years and also featured in the Women’s Senior One-Day Trophy.
Jaiswal has had a stupendous year with the bat for Rajasthan Royals as he made 625 runs in 14 games.
Many cricket experts and commentators have also been wanting Jaiswal to play for India and now that dream has come to fruition.
Ruturaj has been in and out of the Indian team recently
But, Gaikwad has seen a lot of ins and outs in his international career for India. He was given plenty of chances but he failed to capitalize on them.
While he has played only one ODI match, he has also played nine T20Is for India in the past. In that ODI he scored 19 runs while in T20Is, he has 135 runs to his name.
However, he played some fantastic cricket for his domestic side, Maharashtra in the Vijay Hazare Trophy where he helped them reach the final.
Unfortunately, they lost to Saurashtra by 5 wickets in the final of the tournament.
Moreover, Gaikwad is currently not in the BCCI’s plans when it comes to white-ball cricket. But, if he plays well and continues to build up his momentum, then he can surely be counted on the likes of Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Ishan Kishan.
