Asia Cup 2022 has already pulled off the curtain by Afghanistan’s eight wicket victory against Sri Lanka. But the real spice is yet to come. The Sunday will blow the whistle for one of the World’s biggest clash- India vs Pakistan. However, both teams suffered .assive blows in their fast bowling department. Pakistan is right now dealing with Shaheen Afridi’s absense. However, India’s biggest concern can indeed be Jasprit Bumrah’s absence. Nonetheless, the former Indian captain as well as the BCCI present Saurav Ganguly is least comcerned about it. While speaking about that, Ganguly told India Today,

“I don’t think one player can make a difference. It’s teamwork. We also don’t have Jasprit Bumrah.”

Jasprit Bumrah has been the lead bowler for India over the years. But the back injury got him no place in the team. Same scene in the Pakistan camp too. Shaheen Afridi, who has been the stand out player for Pakistan against India in the last meet, won’t e featuring on Sunday. Shaheen however, injured his knee while playing the second test against SL at Galle.

No team is favourite in T-20 format: Saurav Ganguly

However, the team will face each other at the same venue- Dubai international stadium. This stadium had ensured India a pathetic 10 wickets loss. Nonetheless, India will look forward to change the result this time.

Apart from commenting on Bumrah’s absence, Ganguly also commented on Hardik Pandya. Pandya came back to the blues after an impressive ride with the Gujrat Titans in 2022 IPL.

Ganguly said,

“Absolutely… He’s a huge addition to the side plus his bowling. Last year he was not fit to bowl, now he’s gone back to bowling. So he is a huge addition.”

Ganguly also gave some idea about the favourites in Asia Cup 2022. He said,

“No team is a favourite in the T20 format. Did anyone think of Gujarat winning the IPL. It’s a different format altogether. You have so little time to recover.”
