Sebastian Vettel will race for one last time at the 2022 Abu Dhabi GP. Here is how Lewis Hamilton paid tribute to the retiring legend.

The 2022 Abu Dhabi GP has a lot to offer when it comes to the drama that is about to unfold in the main race. Nevertheless, one key talking point of the weekend is the retirement of Sebastian Vettel.

The four-time world champion announced his retirement earlier this year. Vettel decided to move out of the sport to focus on his next phase of life. The German is going to spend more time with his family while focusing on his hobbies too.

All the 20 drivers came together for a meal last night specifically to celebrate Vettel’s illustrious career in F1. It was an emotional evening with many drivers paying their respects to the departing legend.

The drivers will race together for one last time this season at the Abu Dhabi GP.

Hamilton pays his tribute to Vettel

Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel have shared an immense rivalry on the track. One can argue that Hamilton was the toughest rival Vettel ever faced. Regardless, both are amazing friends too with united viewpoints on many matters.

Lewis Hamilton posted a photo with Sebastian Vettel on his Instagram. The seven-time world champion paid his heartfelt tribute in the caption below the post.

Hamilton said:

“We’ve come a long way as drivers and continue to grow as men. Despite whatever may happen on the track we grow and become better each day. Us all coming together to celebrate life and Seb’s amazing career in F1 is truly a night I’ll never forget.”

The duo were fierce rivals on the track but stood united when it came to the issues off track. The duo always stands together fighting to make F1 a better place.
