India’s chinaman bowler, Kuldeep Yadav has finally gained full fitness and has left for the Caribbean.

The spinner shared the news via his Instagram handle and will join the Indian team to play the 5-match T20I series against the hosts. Kuldeep was dropped from the Indian team after his form dipped for a while but he came back strongly in this year’s IPL for the Delhi Capitals. He clinched 21 wickets in this IPL which led to his selection for the home series against South Africa.

“See you soon Caribbean. Can’t wait to join my teammates and get going,” wrote Kuldeep.

Unfortunately, Kuldeep sustained a hand injury while batting in the nets just prior to the beginning of the home series. As a result, Kuldeep did not feature for India in the home series and had to leave for NCA. A BCCI official has also confirmed Kuldeep’s full fitness and has said that the spinner has checked out of the NCA and is on his way to the Caribbean.

“He is close to match-fitness. But we don’t want to rush his return considering he had surgery. There will be a fitness test at NCA on July 24 and if he clears that, he will board the flight to Trinidad. Kuldeep is fine. He has checked out of NCA. He cleared the fitness test,” said the official.

India had included Kuldeep in the T20I squad but his fitness came in the way of his availability. With Kuldeep now fit, India’s squad has become stronger for the T20I series. Many senior players will also return for the T20I series against the Windies.
