Sharjah Cricket Ground is located in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. It was established in the year 1982. This stadiums has hosted many international events like t20 world cup , Asia world cup , IPL and so on. Sharjah equals the record of hosting most number of international matches along with Sydney Cricket Ground.

In 2010, Afghanistan Cricket Board made Sharjah Cricket Ground as their home ground for one day internationals and first class cricket. Some Pakistan Super League matches are being hosted here. Teams like Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators have made this ground as their home ground. The cricket stadium also hosted the inaugural edition of the T10 cricket league , which is a 90-minute cricket league from 14 to 17 December 2017 featuring several international cricket players. It has also hosted finals of 2018 Blind Cricket World Cup finals. It has also hosted 2004 ICC intercontinental cup. Sharjah has hosted Indian Premier League 3 times , 2014 ( during general elections ) , 2020 and 2021 ( due to Covid 19).

The Cricket Ground have been chosen as neutral venue by some nations like Afghanistan and Pakistan sometimes. Before construction of stadiums , Afghanistan made this ground as home ground. Later in 2016 , Afghanistan shifted their home ground to Noida Cricket Complex , New Delhi. Due to security and national issues , Pakistan made this ground as their home ground and international matches were played by Pakistan here.

Sharjah Cricket Ground equals itself with Sydney Cricket Ground , Australia in hosting maximum number of international matches. The test on 31st January 2002, Pakistan vs West Indies. First odi 1984, Pakistan vs Sri Lanka. First t20i 2013, Afghanistan vs Scotland. Between 1984 and 2003, the Sharjah ground was the venue for 206 one day internationals. In 2011, the Guinness Book of Records recorded the Sharjah stadium as hosting the greatest number of one-day matches. This increased the craze of cricket in UAE. This also funded a lot and helped the country to grow economically. It was a deserted land once upon a time and was of no use. But cricketing enthusiast like Abdul Rahman Bukhatir and buisness minds of UAE changed the fate of this barren lands. Now this generates crores of money and also increased tourism by hosting a large number of international matches.
